The 2024–25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form is now available at studentaid.gov/fafsa. The FAFSA form may be unavailable for short periods of time while the site is monitored for performance and form functionality.
“Do not panic if the FAFSA is unavailable for a short period of time,” said OU’s Director of Financial Aid and Scholarships Nicole Boelk. “There is no rush for families to complete the FAFSA, although it is suggested that students try and complete it by the end of January, as that is when the Department of Education intends to start sending the results to schools.”
Oakland University students are encouraged to complete the FAFSA to become eligible for federal, state and institutional aid, including grants, scholarships, loans and the work-study program. “Oakland University will begin notifying students of their 2024-25 financial aid eligibility in spring 2024,” said Boelk.

Current or prospective OU undergraduate and graduate students who need help completing the FAFSA can call, email or visit Student Financial Services to speak with an adviser or register for a virtual FAFSA Workshop. OUWB medical students who need help renewing their FAFSA can visit OUWB Financial Services.
